From St Peter's Herekino in the North West to Whangapa on the shores of the Awaroa River, follow the lazy Rotokakahi River southward, to St Gabriel's in Pawarenga and down the coast, through to St Peter's Church Panguru & onto St James's Church in Mitimiti.

Travel inland around the Hokianga Harbour to beautiful Motuti & visit the place where Bishop Pompallier was reinterned, his remains lie beneath the Altar of St Mary's Church.

Continue around the harbour to Motukaraka & Our Lady of the Assumption Church through to Kohukohu & St Francis Xavier Church.

You can stop & visit the Commemorative Monument to Bishop Pompallier & site of the first official Catholic Mass in New Zealand.

Complete the trip in Broadwood slightly inland at Our Lady of Peace Church.
